Download this file to install MultiPASS Desktop Manager 3.20x on a computer upgraded from Windows 95, 98, Me or NT 4.0; or on a new installation of Windows XP (this includes computers with Windows XP pre-installed).
Note
: If you've upgraded your Windows 95, 98, Me or NT 4.0 computer to Windows XP with the MultiPASS Desktop Manager still installed, uninstall the Desktop Manager before installing this version.
Please read the uninstallation and installation instructions provided below, first.

Canon MultiPASS C755 - Windows 98/Me Upgrade to Windows XP Home
1.
Make sure your MultiPASS C755 is
ON
and connected to your computer.
2.
Power
ON
your computer and log on as Administrator.
3.
Uninstall the current MultiPASS Suite by selecting
Start
, then
Control Panel
and selecting
Add or Remove Programs
.
4.
In the 'Add or Remove Programs' dialog, select
Canon MultiPASS Suite 3.20
, then select
Change/Remove
.
5.
At the 'Confirm File Deletion - Are you sure you want to completely remove Canon MultiPASS Suite 3.20 and all of its components?' dialog, select
Yes
.
6.
At the 'Warning - The service is failed to uninstall, or already uninstalled. Do you like to proceed.' dialog, select
Yes
.
7.
At the 'Warning - The kernel mode driver is failed to uninstall, or already uninstalled. Do you like to proceed.' dialog, select
Yes
.
8.
At the 'Error - Printer driver is unknown.' dialog, select
OK
.
9.
At the second 'Error - Printer driver is unknown.' dialog, select
OK
.
10.
At the 'Error - The parameter is incorrect.' dialog, select
OK
.
11.
At the 'Uninstallation query - Do you want to permanently delete the existing MultiPASS database including your sent and received faxes, Fax Log and Address Book?' dialog, select
No
.
12.
At the 'Confirm File Deletion - Are you sure you want to completely remove Canon MultiPASS ODBC Interface and all of its components?' dialog, select
Yes
.
13.
At the 'Remove Programs From Your Computer - unInstallShield will remove the software Canon MultiPASS ODBC Interface from your computer. Please wait while each of the following components is removed ... Uninstall successfully completed' dialog, select
OK
.
14.
At the 'Uninstaller - You are about to uninstall Canon ScanGear 4.0 for MultiPASS' dialog, select
OK
.
15.
At the 'Confirm File Deletion - Are you sure you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its components?' dialog, select
Yes
.
16.
At the 'Remove Shared File? - The system indicates that the following shared file is no longer used by any programs. If any programs are still using this file and it is removed, those programs may not function. Are you sure you want to remove the shared file?' dialog, select
Yes To All
.
17.
At the 'Remove Shared File? - You have chosen to remove all shared components which the system indicates are no longer being used. This may cause some programs not to function if they still require any of these files. Are you sure you want to proceed?' dialog, select

20. Close
the 'Add or Remove Programs' and 'Control Panel' windows.
For USB Uninstallation only (Parallel Installation proceed to step 26)

Select
Start
, right-click
My Computer
and select
Properties
.
22.
Select the
Hardware
tab, then select the
Device Manager
button.

In 'Device Manager', scroll to ?
Other Devices
and select the "+" (
Plus Sign
) to expand.

Right-click ?
CanonMultiPASS C755
and select
Uninstall
.
25.
At the 'Confirm Device Removal - CanonMultiPASS C755 - Warning: You are about to remove this device from your system.' dialog, select
OK
.
26. Disconnect
the USB/LPT cable from your MultiPASS C755. Then restart your computer and log on as Administrator. Select
Start
, then
Turn Off Computer
, and then
Restart
. (Your computer restarts.)
27.
Download the Windows XP driver for the C755 (
XPC755.exe
) from the Canon Website to your computer desktop or wherever you save downloaded files.
28.
Now extract the Windows XP C755 driver,
double-click
the downloaded file (
XPC755.exe
).
29.
At the 'Canon - Information: All items were successfully extracted' dialog, select
OK
.
30.
Follow the installation procedure that is included with the driver. If the instructions do not launch, select
Start
, then
Run
, type C
:\temp\C755\Setup\XPInstall.htm
, select
OK
and follow the instructions.
Important
* If you did not run Setup2.exe, perform this step now. Select
Start
, then
Run
, type C

* During the installation process, MultiPASS Setup will detect the existing database. Select

to use this database. After the installation, the MultiPASS C755 Windows XP driver will keep your user settings, Address Book and saved images.

In the SysTray of Windows Taskbar , right-click
MultiPASS Toolbar icon

Exit MultiPASS Toolbar

MultiPASS Status Monitor icon

.

In the 'MultiPASS Status Monitor - Closing the MultiPASS Status Monitor will prevent any status messages such as Out of Paper, Paper Jam or Communication Errors from being displayed. Are you sure you want to close the MultiPASS Status Monitor?' dialog, select

Uninstall the MultiPASS Software by selecting

the USB/LPT cable from your MultiPASS C755. Then restart your computer and log on as "Administrator". Select

24. Download
the new "Windows XP driver" for the C755 (
XPC755.exe
) from the Canon Website to your computer desktop or wherever you save downloaded files.
25.
Now extract the "Windows XP C755". Double-click the downloaded file (
XPC755.exe
) from where you saved the downloaded files. (Files extract.)
26.
At the 'Canon - Information: All items were successfully extracted' dialog, select
OK
.
27.
Follow the installation procedure that is included with the driver. If the instructions do not launch, select
Start
, then
Run
, type C
:\temp\C755\Setup\XPInstall.htm

OK
and follow the instructions.
