Our People
To get Canon quality, you have to cultivate quality-minded people. At our facility in Newport News, Virginia, we have more than 1,400 people—including over 50 skilled craftsman in our Tool Shop alone—working toward one common goal: making a better product, whether it’s ours or yours. So whatever you need to reach that goal—from a preferred hot runner source to a certain style of water fittings—we’ll make sure you get a quality mold that lives up to the Canon name.

Your Canon Virginia team will include:

  • a Project Manager who works with you and your team to ensure quality and world-class responsiveness
  • Engineers who can provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) solutions to help you develop part designs and cost-effective mold solutions
  • integrated Tool Makers, all utilizing CAD viewers so they have complete access to all data from the design and programming phases
  • an in-house Quality Assurance team dedicated to testing and ensuring the accuracy of your mold

Our Facility
Canon Virginia’s state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility incorporates the latest technology in high-speed machining. We have more than 50,000 square feet dedicated to our experienced engineers and tool makers. They will machine your mold to run to your exact specifications using:

  • Our proprietary software that seamlessly converts CAD to machine code to dramatically reduce lead-times
  • Nine CNC machining centers
  • Four EDMs, both plunge and wire
  • Machine-monitoring systems to predict cutter wear
  • Hot runner molding capabilities
