Additionally, Canon Virginia is active in supporting our local colleges, serving on numerous advisory boards that are shaping our local education system and donating much-needed equipment. Our team members are working with the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance, Virginia Manufacturing Association, the Virginia Legislative Committee and many other community development initiatives to continue business growth and development.
Canon Virginia Accomplishments and Awards
We’ve created the $500,000 Canon Leadership Scholars Program, offering 25 new annual scholarships to students at Christopher Newport University.
We’ve received numerous environmental awards, including:
- VMA Governor’s Environmental Excellence Award for Environmental Programs
- Clean the Bay Award from City of Newport News
- Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) Awards for Pretreatment for Environmental Compliance
- Virginia Peninsula Clean the Business Award
- City of Newport News Lighthouse Award for Clean Business of the Year
Honored as an Exemplary Environmental Enterprise from the Department of Environmental Quality for the Commonwealth of Virginia.(The honor is awarded to facilities that have a comprehensive environmental management system with sound environmental performance and a commitment to pollution prevention.)
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency National Environmental Performance Track given to companies for commitment to environmental management, continuous improvement, public outreach and sustained environmental compliance).
Postponement & Teamwork Excellence Award presented by Hewlett-Packard. (given for excellence in teamwork in imaging and printing in North America).
